About the Conference
KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY AND 21ST CENTURY HUMANISM is a national scientific conference with international participation organized by the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies - Sofia, and held annually in honor of 1 November – the Day of the National Revival Leaders.
The aim of the forum is to celebrate the life and work of educators, writers, and revolutionaries, and to provide the scientific community and the public with an opportunity to meet and become acquainted with contemporary developments and achievements in four broad scientific fields: literature and humanism, cultural heritage, information technologies, and security.
In 2026, we commemorate the 150th anniversary of the remarkable 1876 – a year that left an indelible mark in the struggle for independence. We also celebrate 170th anniversary of the establishment of the first chitalishte – a unique form of community cultural centre that was and still is at the heart of the building and strengthening of our national identity.
Traditionally, the conference brings together established scholars, researchers, and professionals from Bulgaria and around the world to exchange ideas and best practices. There is a section dedicated to the next generation in science where students, PhD candidates, post-doctoral researchers, and young scientists will gain valuable experience, skills and insight.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review. The accepted materials are published in electronic proceedings that meet international scientific standards and are included in the National Reference List of Bulgaria’s National Center of Information and Documentation. The proceedings will be made available on the day of the conference.
